"Facts are facts, and everyone would learn of Mrs. Moore’s death in the morning. But it struck him that people are not really dead until they are felt to be dead. As long as there is some misunderstanding about them, they possess a sort of immortality.”
- E.M. Forster, Passage to India
notes: This Knit the Classics entry is for Passage to India. The object of this project was to knit an item that looked like it might belong in the novel. The pattern for the cable is called Braided Branches, and was taken from Just Scarves. The novel takes place in the 1920s, and the eclectic mixture of wool cables, antique buttons, and fringe creates a unique bag. The inside of the bag was lined in a gold coloured silk.
other notes: The purse will be beta-tested tonight! So far it can carry a mobile phone, a metrocard, lip gloss, and cash.
