What I’m Working on This Week: Gathered Skirt

Teal seersucker with large red roses and small pink roses.

I miss dressing in vintage. I miss wearing color. I miss sewing colorful things. And since I’ve been wearing all black, all the time for the past two months (in any variation of the high-low hem, leather miniskirt, skinny jeans, t-shirts, tank tops), I’m now really bored with it.

So for something totally different: a full skirt in teal seersucker with roses. I know it’s almost the end of summer and I should be doing a season ahead, but I don’t care.

  1. This fabric looks incredible and will suit you beautifully. It’s always nice to have a variety of colours in your wardrobe or at least the odd spash of colour to brighten things up!

  2. That’s actually a green Hello Kitty sewing machine. I think it’s meant for children, but I bought it a few years ago when the electrical cord on my 1940s Singer (which I was using when I started to learn how to sew) started getting frayed and worn.

  3. look foward to seeing this made up. seersucker is one of my all time favourites, and that print/colours look stunning.
