project started: Three Hour Sweater, from a 1930s booklet.
yarn used: very large cone of pink merino yarn, worsted weight. pink with flecks of white, grey, and red.
needles: size 8
notes: using the pattern as a guide. knitting this in the top down, on the round. the yarn has bits of flecks (tweedy) qualities, so i don’t know about doing all that ribbing.. might have to improvise the bottom.
note: materials: size J (?) crochet hook, Brown Sheep worsted yarn in brown, peacock feather hairclip (handmade), brown sequin ribbon with elastic.
improvements: this hat is too loose! it sort of works with the ribbon elastic, but the edges are too floppy. next time I will definitely track down a size I crochet hook.
notes: size 11 knitting needles. various red and white wool yarn, worsted weight, held together 3 at a time. sequins, beads and felt for decoration. pattern self-made.

quick and easy project! i’m glad that the mystery yarn wasn’t itchy wool. it doesn’t fasten so securely with the button, though.
